Too many athletes rely Gatorade or Powerade to hydrate themselves, but really it is very unhealthy and does not provide as much hydration and energy as they say. These sports drinks have too much sugar and high fructose syrup than you need to have an energy boost. I know that Gatorade and Powerade taste amazing but don’t rely on them as an athlete. Don’t worry, there is a replacement which is 15 times more likely to hydrate you, according to Kyle Levers article “Nature’s Gatorade”.
If you are an athlete or someone who is trying to be healthy, drink coconut water. Coconut water is superior to all other sports drinks. Coconut water is amazing for your body when you are out of breath and after you have exercised. It has more electrolytes than 15 Gatorades, and has no added sugars.
This water has more potassium than two bananas, has calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, carbohydrates and sodium, all of which will help you stay healthy and hydrated. These electrolytes that you consume when you drink coconut water help replace the others that have been lost while exercising. So if you want to stay healthy, drink coconut water.
