Highlands Cafe is a great little place to get food. It’s cozy, and they make you feel warm, and make you feel at home. It makes you feel this way because they keep it nice and warm. They keep you cozy.

They have TV’s but the volume is not to loud so you can a conversation. They bring the food to you. Also because everyone is kind and interacts with each. It’s kind of like family reunion with all your family members.

Their cafe has brought my neighborhood community together. Highlands have people hooked. A lot of people come very often because of the good food and how it’s a warm welcoming place. People in our neighborhood use highlands as a place where everyone can go because we use it as the place to get together. This is because almost everyone in the neighborhood has been there and love it. Sometimes when there are big events the community goes to highlands to get together and it gives everyone this warm welcoming and we have a great time.

This is because it brings everyone together and the food is very good. The food isn’t always the healthiest but the food is of good quality. Some of the food is overpriced but most of it is priced perfectly. They have multiple food options. You can get pasta, soup, sandwiches, salads, waffles, chicken, shrimp, eggs, bacon, toast, sausage, and omelettes which you can get with egg white if that’s what you want. They also have coffee, hot chocolate, and all types off brand sodas and juices. On the chalkboard they have next to the kitchen they have their specialties written down. They are really well known for their Chicken and waffles and also their Fried shrimp with grits. The other specialty they have is The chicken melt. In the the chicken melt there is bacon, chicken, honey mustard, lettuce, tomato, cheese and a side of fries. I have tried all of the and I would recommend them all. They also have sweets that they make themselves. For example they always make a homemade sweet potato pie around the time of thanksgiving and it is amazing.

The service is phenomenal. They welcome right as you enter. They take your order and they bring the food to you when it’s ready. They are always nice and if you ever need help you can ask them. It never takes longer than 20 minutes for the food to be ready.

I strongly recommend Highlands to anyone. If you are in the neighborhood near 14th and N Crittenden St & N Decatur St. Come and have some scrumptious quick meal stop by Highlands Cafe!
