About two months ago Middle School students began working on this year’s musical, “Suessical: The Musical.” Seussical is a new and kid-friendly musical that switches from different books written by Dr. Seuss. Seussical incorporates some of Dr. Seuss’ books into a comedy-like musical.
Digital Journalism students Andrew Norman and Mario Guadamillas-Jaquete got a chance to talk one-on-one with the tech director, Mark Perkins.
Here’s what Perkins has to say about the tech behind it:
“The lighting is…interesting,” Perkins said while describing how the musical has been going so far.
Additionally, the set and stage is set up very differently this year. One unique aspect of WIS’ Black Box Theatre is that the seating can be rearranged. For this musical, the stands will be facing each other like a football stadium giving a 360-degree view of the production. This should really cool especially for the audience and even the performers, giving them more space on the stage.
Reporting and audio production by Mario Guadamillas-Jaquete and Andrew Norman.
